Dade City was established in 1889 and is the county seat of Pasco County. It is the commercial center of the area, which includes more than 70,000 residents. It´s just a short drive up Interstate 75, exit on State Road 52 East and you will be amazed by the historic homes and businesses.

Dade City hosts several festivals during the year. Favorites are the Kumquat Festival, the Church Street Christmas and the Country Christmas Stroll, The Little Everglades Steeplechase, The Dade "Battle of Brilliance" for bicycle racing fans and the "Classic Car Cruise-in" held the first Saturday of each month.

Also located in the Greater Dade City area are two outstanding educational institutions, Pasco-Hernando Community College-Dade City Campus and St. Leo University. Dade City´s financial system has historically been tied to agriculture, centered primarily on citrus and cattle. Over time it has shifted more to service, government and retail jobs, which have been centered in the region of Dade City´s central core.
